Area/Title: Laser based few-mode optical signal transmission over silica fibers for high bit rate telecommunication networks and sensor applications
About the Speaker: Anton Bourdine earned a PhD from the Povolzhskiy State University of Telecommunications and Informatics (PSUTI, Samara, Russia) in November 2002 and received degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences in December 2013 which was defend in Ufa State Aviation University (USATU, Ufa, Russia). From then till present days he is a professor at the Department of Communication Lines of PSUTI and Assistant to the Rector for Innovation. His research interests are concerned with multi- and few-mode effects in optical fibers, laser-based high bit rate data transmission over irregular fiber optic links with multi- and few-mode fibers, differential mode delay management, application of a few-mode effects in sensor networks, design of special few-mode optical fibers for telecommunication networks and sensor applications. Anton Bourdine is regular OSA and SPIE member. He is scientific advisor of PSUTI SPIE Student Chapter established on 2015.
Dr. Rim Cherif, University of Carthage, Tunisia
Area/Title: Supercontinuum generation in highly nonlinear fibers
About the Speaker: Rim CHERIF is an Associate Professor at the « Institut supérieur des études technologiques en communications de Tunis, Tunisia ». She received her PhD degree in Information and Communication Technologies from the University of Carthage (Tunis, Tunisia), Engineering School of Communication (Sup'Com) in 2009. She has published more than 70 papers in the areas of optical characterization of photonic crystal fibers and photonic nanowires, supercontinuum generation, ultra-fast and nonlinear optics, optical sensors for all optical new generation networks (h-index 9). She was member in the Executive Board of the Tunisian Optical Society, a member of the ICO family for the period 2012-2015. She founded the SPIE and OSA Tunisia Student Chapter in 2010 and 2009, respectively. Today she is chapter advisor. She has been invited to serve on the SPIE scholarship committee for 2017. She has organized several conferences and workshops in optics, photonics and women in science. In 2015, she co-organized the first North African FOCUS and IONS Tunis. In 2014, she was Elsevier Foundation New-Scholar Grant holder for Career Building Workshops for STEM Women Scientists in collaboration with Prof. G. Richmond (COACh, University of Oregon). She received the Elsevier Foundation New-Scholar Grant in 2012 for the project Get Ahead with Optics : Career Development for Women in Science. In 2015, she has been awarded the 2015 ICO/ICTP Gallieno Denardo Award for her « achievements in the field of nonlinear optics and in particular for her contributions to the design of highly nonlinear fibers for supercontinuum generation, as well as for her active commitment aimed at the diffusion of research inoptics and photonics in Tunisia ». She has been nominated 2017 OSA ambassador.

.Area/Title: Microwave Power dividers: some recent trends
About the Speaker: Prof. Ratnajit Bhattacharjee received his B.E.in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (First Class Hons) from Guwahati University (Institute: REC (at present NIT) Silchar), M.Tech. (E and ECE Department, Microwave Engineering specialization) from IIT Kharagpur and Ph.D. (Engineering) from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Presently, he is a Professor in the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, IIT Guwahati. Prior to joining IIT Guwahati in 2002, he was a faculty member in REC (NIT) Silchar. His research interest includes Wireless communication, Wireless networks, Microstrip antennas, Microwave Engineering and Electromagnetics. Seven research students have completed their PhD under his supervision and at present several students are working under his guidance. He has co-authored about one hundred and thirty research papers in journals, international and national conferences. He has served as General Chair for 5th edition of IEEE Applied Electromagnetic Conference, AEMC 2015 and 22nd National Conference on Communications, NCC 2016, Chairman for the NPSC 2014 and Convener for IESC 2017. He has delivered invited talks in several conferences, workshops and symposia. He has also served as TPC member for several conferences. He has developed a web course on Electromagnetic Theory under the NPTEL project of MHRD and also involved with the ongoing mission project on Virtual Labs as coordinator of EE discipline laboratories and Institute coordinator for IITG. He was a Co-investigator for the contracted research from NICT Japan in the area of Next-Generation Wireless Networks and PI for a project from ISRO in the area of development of matched feed for offset reflector antennas. Currently, he is Chief Coordinator for DeitY supported project for setting up of an E&ICT academy at IIT Guwahati. He is a member of IEEE and life member of Indian Society of Technical Education.

About the Speaker: Prof. Dinesh Kumar Jain received the B.Sc ( Electrical Engg.), M. Tech and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Kurukshetra, India, in 1987, 1993 and 2001 respectively. He is currently a Professor with the Deparment of Electrical Engineering at Deenbandhu Chhoturam University of Science and Technology, Murthal, India. His research interests include power system protection, electric power quality, electric drives and renewable energy systems. He has guided 6 Ph. D and 5 are in progress. He has published 90 Technical papers in International/ National Journals and conferences. He was a member of Technology Advisory Group of Enercon India Ltd. and MF Solar Systems. He is Senior Member, IEEE and Delhi Section. He has been the General Chair for PICONF 2012 and Technical Chair for PIICON 2014 and IICPE 2016. He has been awarded 2014 IEEE PES Chapter Engineer Award for exemplary contributions in organising conferences in area of the Power & Energy Systems and research contribution in the field of renewable energy systems. He also received Elsevier Reviewer Recognition Award for 2015.

Area/Title: Vacuum Microelectronic Devices for ultra broadband THz Communication Systems.
About the Speaker: Prof. Vishnu Srivastava joined CSIR-CEERI, Pilani in January 1976; superannuated from the post of Chief Scientist & Head of the Division in Nov. 2015; presently working as Emeritus Scientist & Professor on project: Vacuum Microelectronic Devices for efficient high power generation and amplification of THz frequencies. He received M.Sc. degree from Rajasthan Univ. in 1975 and Ph.D. degree from Lancaster Univ., U.K., in 1987; recipient of National Scholarship in school & college; UGC research scholarship in University, and Commonwealth Scholarship in UK; received IETE award for best engineering paper; senior visiting fellow at Lancaster University during 1991 and 1997, and at Seoul National University in 2003; selected as an expert member by the European Agency under the FP7 program; organized Indo- UK seminar in 2013 on THz vacuum devices - supported by Royal Society, UK and DST-India. Prof. Srivastava has published more than 300 research papers in national and international Journals.

About the Speaker: Dr. Rajesh Kumar received the B.Tech. degree from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra, India in 1994, the M. E. from Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur, India in 1997 and the Ph.D. degree from MNIT, University of Rajasthan, India in 2005. Since 1995, he has been a Faculty Member in the Department of Electrical Engineering, MNIT, Jaipur, where he is serving as an Associate Professor. He was Post Doctorate Research Fellow in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore, from 2009 to 2011. His field of interest includes theory and practice of intelligent systems, machine learning, bio and nature inspired algorithms, power conversion, smart grids, robotics and bioinformatics. It is required that the manuscript follows the standard IEEE camera-ready format (IEEE standard format, double column, 10-point font). Submissions must include title, author and affiliation with email address, abstract and keywords. The IEEE templates in Microsoft Word and LaTeX format can be found at :
The authors will be required to ensure that the submissions can be displayed and printed without further processing using only standard tools and postscript printers. All submissions should be written in English with a maximum paper length of Six (6) printed pages including figures. Only PDF files will be accepted for the review process.
All submitted papers will be subjected to a "Similarity (plagiarism) Test" by plagiarism checker. Papers achieving a high similarity score will be examined and those that are deemed unacceptable will be rejected without a formal review. Paper clearing the similarity test will undergo a full paper review.

Jaipur is the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Rajasthan in Northern India. It was founded on 18 November 1727 by Maharaja Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amer after whom the city is named. As of 2011, the city has a population of 3.1 million, making it the tenth most populous city in the country. Jaipur is also known as the Pink City of India.

Hawa Mahal is a five-storey pyramidal shaped monument with 953 windows that rises 15 metres (50 ft) from its high base. Sisodiya Rani Bagh and Kanak Vrindavan are the major gardens in Jaipur.
Jaipur is located on National Highway No.8 connecting Delhi and Mumbai. National Highway 12 links Jaipur with Kota and National Highway 11 links Bikaner with Agra passing through Jaipur. RSRTC operates bus service to major cities in Rajasthan, New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab and Gujarat. City buses are operated by Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL) of RSRTC.
Jaipur is the headquarters of North Western Zone of Indian Railways. Jaipur Railway Station is well connected to all major cities of India like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad. Other stations include Gandhinagar, Durgapura, Jagatpura, Ninad Benad and Sanganer.
Jaipur International Airport is in Sanganer, 10 km from the center. The airport operates regular domestic services to major Indian cities including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune and Udaipur. International destinations served include Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Muscat and Sharjah.
