OWT 2021

The 5th International Conference on Optical and Wireless Technologies (OWT 2021) was a key event in the OWT series, organized by the Irisworld Society, and held on October 9–10, 2021, via a virtual platform, likely hosted by Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur.

Key Highlights:

  • Focus Areas: The conference focused on advanced research across two complementary disciplines: Optical Communication, Optoelectronics, and Optics, and Wireless Communication, Wireless Networks, and Mobile Communications. It specifically explored the convergence of these two fields in next-generation applications.

  • Proceedings and Publication: The select, peer-reviewed proceedings of OWT 2021 were published in a book titled "Optical and Wireless Technologies: Proceedings of OWT 2021" by Springer Nature as Volume 892 of the Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering series.

  • Research Themes: The published contributions covered a wide range of cutting-edge topics, including:

    • 5G and Next-Generation Systems: Research on millimeter-wave antennas, high-gain multiband patch antennas, and beamforming impact on new Wi-Fi standards.

    • Optical Components and Photonics: Design and analysis of all-optical logic gates using photonic crystal structures, simulation of FBG-based sensors for measuring temperature and strain, and the use of plasmonic waveguide couplers.

    • Novel Communication Systems: Studies on Underwater Wireless Optical Communication (UWOC) and Visible Light Communication (VLC).

    • IoT and Applications: Analysis of IoT-based systems for child safety and discussions on the Internet of Lighting for smart cities.

The OWT 2021 conference served as a vital international platform, bringing together scientists, academicians, and engineers to review, update, and advance the scientific and technical information in the rapidly evolving domain of optical and wireless technologies, even amidst the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.
